The Alamo
The Alamo, also known as the Battle of the Alamo was battle that almost turned the tides in the Texas Revolution. President of Mexico, Santa Anna assaulted the Alamo, near San Antonio killing many Texians. After the assault, many Texians and American travelers joined the Texian army to fight back Santa Anna holding out 13 days against Anna’s army. The Alamo is significant because it was the key to defending Texas, and many were willing to give up their lives to protect the territory. However, with Santa Anna’s continuous assault, defenders were overwhelmed and lost the site. People remember the Alamo as a heroic struggle against impossible odds, Mexico, and a place where people died for their freedom.
